The Lookout is a place where anybody can submit their work for review. We're looking primarily for working class correspondents. We also seek entries from dual-lingo homes or so-called incorrect English speakers, both urban and rural, from both the very young, and the very old. We aim to reflect the figurative heart of a literal America.
Suggested Categories (These are ONLY Suggestions):
All of these entries can be made anonymous, or, if you like, you can use a pen name of your own devising.
Mailed-in entries are encouraged. All entries sent by e-mail are to be included in the message field; Attachments will NOT be opened.
Editor correspondents who collect works from friends and family must edit with permission. Please include originals as well as Authorship and their Cause in each entry.
Your Cause could be a charity or business you wish to support, a movie franchise you adore, your own web page, etc.. These can be anything the author wishes to see more of in the World: A favorite action hero, an endangered species, a favorite past-time. Political causes will NOT be published in either format.
We are a Print-Only format, but we publish ALL entries on this site in our Archive. Please state if you do NOT wish to be published online in the archive should your entry fail to meet our print needs, with the understanding no statement made to this effect will automatically make your work eligible for on-line publishing, as well as print publishing at a future date.
Material sent by USPS, etc., becomes the sole property of The Lookout. However, with ALL submissions please include a return address, a phone number, and/or email address so that we may discuss edits should the need arise.
Material sent without a return address becomes the sole property of The Lookout. You may request at any time to have your work removed from our site. By submitting work by email, message text, or USPS you agree to these terms.
...Now kick up a line or hit the address below!

Disclaimer : Please understand that because of space restrictions and issue-tone resulting from either season or zeitgeist, submissions may not be selected. All submissions will be preserved for future publishing unless you give us a written request to discard. All edits made by The Lookout shall be approved by the author prior to publishing.
One free copy of the Print issue in which their work can be found will be given to each author in lieu of payment. We hope to reimburse authors in the future with a flat rate per entry, but this can only happen if the word gets out about our exceptional efforts to give a voice to our great lands that simply does not currently exist. I can’t thank those who contribute and/or assist enough. This is a labor of love, and devotion — not to the written word, but to what we in this wild caravan of animal magic may yet accomplish with it.
